May 15 -National Hyperemesis Gravidarum Awareness Day

What is Hyperemesis Gravidarum ( a.k.a HG) ?

hg-world-day-2013-2

It is a pregnancy disease marked by rapid weight loss, malnutrition, and dehydration due to unrelenting nausea and/or vomiting. HG is not the “morning sickness” of healthy, normal pregnancies. It is a distinct diagnosis marked by severe and relentless symptoms that pose risks to the health of both mom and baby.

A wonderful site to help educate us on this very serious pregnancy disease is Help HER. The site is full of education and support for those who may need it or want to know more about it.

Please help spread the word about this pregnancy disease. A lot of people do not realize how terrible it really is. A local Momee Friend of mine suffered from this with both of her pregnancies and I could not imagine going through what she went through each time. Thank goodness she has 2 beautiful and healthy baby girls but I was definitely worried about her health throughout the length of each pregnancy. She is a strong woman and all I can do now is HELP Her and spread awareness.

Please if you can donate to this wonderful foundation HELP Her by clicking here and spread awareness through social networks today in support of HG awareness day.

“By making a donation to the HER Foundation and its education and research dedicated to Hyperemesis Gravidarum – a devastating disease that impacts up to half a million pregnant women each year – you can assist in bringing familie  the help and hope they need when trying to bring a healthy baby into the world.”
