It is now 12 years later and we all can remember where we were when we heard this devastating news.

The shock, the fear, the lives that were lost.

 During that day we all stood tall together and will continue to fight for our freedom as one nation.

I am not only proud to be an American but I am also proud to be a New Yorker!

I am thankful to all those who continue to save the lives of us New Yorkers each day. All the men and women that put their lives at risk to protect ours, I thank you.

Today is a day of remembrance of all the lives that were lost, we will never forget you.

New York will continue to stay strong and the Freedom Tower is a symbol of that.
