Christmas Eve Fun

 If you are like me, I am always looking for ways to make Christmas even more special. I love Christmas time and the joy it brings my girls faces. Mia is three and is starting to understand Christmas and all the fun things that come along with celebrating. Olivia being 8 months old does not know what is going on but she is still smiling and gets excited when her sister does. I have seen some great ideas for Christmas Eve Fun and I know this year I will be doing a lot more than just leaving out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for his eight adorable reindeer.

I love the idea of a Christmas Eve Box!

Here are some ideas to put into the box:

Put together a Christmas Eve Box for kids to open- include new pj's, a holiday book to read before bed, reindeer food to sprinkle in the yard, Santa's magic key.... lots of other ideas of things to include here, too! Such a fun family tradition! Found on growingajeweledrose.com

*A pair of new pajamas ( I love feety pj’s… so comfy and cute).

This year I got the girls matching Little Mermaid Feety Pajamas

*A new Christmas DVD and/or Christmas CD
* Popcorn and Hot Cocoa Mix (with lots of mini marshmallows) to have while watching the movie.
*Reindeer Food to use on the lawn … make sure it sparkles so the reindeer can see it way up in the sky.

Mia’s teachers gave Mia this adorable reindeer food and she is so excited to sprinkle it on the lawn.

*Santa Key– if you don’t have a fireplace this allows Santa to have a special key inside your house so he can leave gifts under the tree and be able to get his cookies and milk and carrots for his reindeer.

Magical Santa Key - If you don't have a chimney this is the solution for Santa to deliver gifts. Found on simplydarrling.com

* A Christmas book to read before bed.
* A gingerbread house kit.
* Elf Treats

because Santa’s helpers deserve it after making all these toys all year-long.

The Elf treats are made out of Cheerios and stored in an Altoids box. Sooooo Cute!

Jack and I made these tiny elf donuts out of Cheerios! We used a tiny Altoids box to store them.

* A new ornament

A little Extra something to do on Christmas Eve:

Once the kids have gone to sleep and all the presents are under the tree. Make sure to leave the magic of Christmas behind for them to see… here is a great idea from Michael’s Craft Stores.

GROW A CANDY CANE PLANT!

* Instead of doing this over a few days just start Christmas Eve morning and by Christmas morning there will be a full size candy cane!
