Aaron is not your average 7-year old boy he is a young boy with a mission and that is to raise awareness for Brain Cancer because he himself is battling a rare form of brain cancer.

Each May during Brain Tumor Awareness Month, the brain tumor community “Goes Gray” to elevate the awareness of brain tumors and brain cancer.

Aaron was nominated by his mom, Sarah Lindner as a shining child and of course we agreed he is without a doubt a child that needs to be recognized within our community. “Aaron (AJ)  was diagnosed last April, we were told he would spend at least 6 months straight in the hospital. He was super bummed that he was going to miss the last few months of kindergarten and his entire summer. He was determined to fulfill his “bucket list” before treatment began. 12 days after his 1st brain surgery he begged his doctors to allow him to go surfing. In that moment I knew he had the willpower to fight this disease. In the freezing april waters, he fulfilled his goal. After spending many months in the hospital, he came home in november, just in time for the holidays. Since then, he has been working hard to overcome his disabilities. Due to his weakened immune system he is not allowed back in school. So everyday he meets with his tutor and also goes to therapy for numerous hours to help gain his strength back.  Everyday he has to work harder than the children around him to keep up. He now has hearing loss, muscle weakness, weak memory, seizures and the list continues. All of this does not stop him from staying positive and helping others. His latest goal was to raise $1,000 for a walk we are participating in for Sunrise Day camp. We still have one more month to go to raise money and he has already raised $1,500.00. Today, he decided to make “be happy” and “be brave” pictures and hand them out to random people. He wrote “Go Grey in May for Brain Cancer Awareness” on them. He passed them out to people at the park, starbucks and our local library. He loves to make people smile and always has a “GO hard or go home” personality. He is a inspiration to myself and everyone else around him.”
