See how easy it is. I suggest making the ornaments one day and painting them the next day.

What you need is:

1/2 cup salt

1/2 cup flour

1/4 cup water

Directions:

Mix the salt, flour and water together and knead until a dough forms.

Roll out the dough.

Choose what cookie cutters you want to use and make the impressions.

Place on your baking sheet.

Use a straw to make a hole in each ornament before you bake them. You need a hole there to pull a string through so you can hang your ornaments.

We baked our ornaments at 200 degrees for 3 hours. I let them cool over night and we painted them the next day. They looked great before painting them and we even made some with our finger prints and hand prints.

These look adorable as gifts and I am sure your friends and family will appreciate the time it took for you and your kids to make them.
