We had so much fun on our family day trip to Leonia, NJ to see Dinosaurs.
So many dinosaurs to see and shows to experience. A fun day out for any dinosaur fan.
When we arrived the girls were so excited to receive their Credentials (a book that they would be able to carry throughout the park to receive stamps). Once they receive 6 dinosaur stamps they would be considered a Paleontologist and would receive a sticker upon completion. We were so excited to experience Field Station: Dinosaurs.
“Field Station offers visitors an exciting and educational experience with over 30 life-size, realistic animatronic dinosaurs, over 40 live shows, games, workshops, interactive activities and special guests.”
We loved the “T-Rex Feeding Frenzy,” where the audience uses the Scientific Method to help the Dinosaur Wrangler study the eating habits of everyone’s favorite carnivore. The show was filled with music, laughs and a mighty T-Rex.
The baby animatronic dinosaur was incredible and so cute!
We loved all of the workshops and live shows. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed every fun and educational experience throughout our day. We even found out that New Jersey is where “the first nearly complete skeleton of a dinosaur was unearthed and it was the skeleton of the Hadrosaurus.”
I found a link where you can read more about the history of this find. It is so cool! Read more: here
The girls were so excited to receive their dinosaur stamps from each friendly staff member.
We made it through the Raptor Trap!
“Perhaps the “biggest” addition to the Field Station this year is the arrival of Spinosaurus. Winner of the Field Station’s 2016 Dinosaur Election, Spinosaurus was chosen by junior dinosaur fans to be the newest spectacular species represented in the park. Spinosaurus was first discovered in Egypt and was the biggest of all the carnivores, even larger than the mighty T-Rex! “
We really loved all the photo-ops throughout the park.
We paid for this print and I think it was so worth it. When can you say you and your family will be captured in a photo with a T-Rex? Only at Field-Station Dinosaurs so we needed this keepsake.
PLEASE DO NOT PET THE DINOSAURS!
Be sure to tag Field Station Dinosaurs on social media posts and if you take a Selfie with a T-Rex be sure to #TRexSelfie.
Your kids will be so excited when they get all their stamps in their credentials and become a Paleontologist for the day!
Even the T-Rex behind the girls was excited and all smiles : )
You can bring your own food or buy from the food truck and sit at the picnic area. I highly recommend bringing cold water especially on a warm day as you walk throughout the park.
Also, bring bug spray and sunscreen you will be happy you did!
