The Bowery Bar & Fare in Rockville Centre

The Bowery Bar & Fare in Rockville Centre is the place to go for fun eats and a great atmosphere.

You can eat, drink and play at The Bowery 7 days a week!

You will feel like you are eating under the big top as you dine inside this casual and family friendly restaurant. The Bowery has put a twist on carnival eats that will leave your tummy satisfied and the inner kid in you wanting to try it all.

As you enter the ceiling will catch your eye right away. Draped from the ceiling is a restored, vintage carnival tent illuminated by whimsical string lights reminiscent of a 1930’s circus. It is stunning to look at!

If you walk past the front dining area you will enter the bar area where the carnival them continues. The bar features custom mirrors and a wall of beer taps that lucky drinkers will use for ring toss.

Opposite the bar is royal blue banquette seating surrounded by stuffed animals, and the far wall is anchored by a roulette wheel that will be used for special happy hour games and prizes.

The DJ booth is bedecked with vintage radios and balloons mimicking a classic carnival dart game. You can enjoy the dj spinning around 8pm on certain nights (definitely on Saturday night). Call ahead and see when the dj will be in.

We enjoyed playing games in the outdoor dining area, and felt so welcome with the kids. We enjoyed playing Jenga, Connect Four and Chess.

You have to take a minute and enjoy the fun photo opp with Einstein that is on the wall when you head back inside The Bowery!

The Banksy-esque graffiti art is from local artist John D’olimpio.

They didn’t miss a beat with the carnival theme the bathrooms even have the quintessential carnival fun house mirrors. Where you see more than one of yourself. The kids loved it and were laughing out loud as they entered what we call the fun house bathroom. I don’t normally take a photo in a restroom but for blogging purposes… here you go! : )

Let’s talk food…

The menu has so many options that you will want to try and it will be hard to pick just one.

Chef Dan DeSalvo’s menu is a compilation of elevated carnival-inspired global street food, ideal for sharing.

This is a Beer Battered Pretzel ! Yup, salty and sweet to the umpteenth power. The outer part tastes like a zeppole and inside is one if the most delicious soft and salty pretzels you will ever have. The Cinnamon Sugar Cream Dip is Ahhh-mazing with it.
Is it an appetizer or is it a dessert? Either way you have it , you will be glad you did.

We highly recommend the Suppli Appetizer. They are fried rice balls stuffed with mozzarella and ground beef and they are a perfect start to your meal.

I loved the Kale Salad with quinoa, walnuts, grapes, and Balsamic vinaigrette. The Kale was charred to perfection for such a great taste with this perfectly dressed salad.

My husband ordered the Pulled Pork Jaffle and it was very good. The combination of delicious pulled pork and cheddar cheese worked very well inside this panini-ish “sandwich”.

Kids Menu

Their Kid Menu includes:

Chicken Fingers, Hot Dog, Mac and Cheese and a Kids Jaffle (grilled cheese) – all served with a soft drink or juice

The curly fries are perfection and the girls loved them. If you check out our Instagram @momeefriendsli you can see them dancing with their new favorite fries. Oh and my four year old wanted me to mention that the ketchup bottle is adorable and that she loved using it on her fries.

Dessert

“It might seem impossible, but try your best to save room for some seriously sweet fried treats, like our zeppole.”- via The Bowery Facebook page

Yup, we couldn’t eat another thing because we ate and ordered so much but, next time we are all in! (maybe order dessert, first? lol)

Who wants an adult beverage?

We highly recommend trying the cocktails (you will not be disappointed with the creative flavors and presentation).

The beverage program was designed by mixologist Nic Richards (The Standard Hotel), and features creative signature craft cocktails like the Fool’s Gold (bourbon, fresh lemon, honey), the Shoot The Freak (aged rum, anchor eyes chili liquor, cinnamon coconut cream, lime, pineapple, hellfire tincture and shaved ice), and the 40 Thieves (bourbon, Amaro Ciao Ciaro, Crème De Cacao, cardamom bitters).

There are also a variety of boozy snowcones shaved in-house, 24 beers on tap, and a special watermelon blonde ale brewed just for The Bowery by Lithology Brewing Co.

We recommend the Fire Eater which will bring the campfire to your table! This is such a cool pour that hits all your senses. You will smell, see and taste the hickory cold smoke as it hits your lips while you enjoy your cocktail.

If you love Margaritas on the rocks we highly recommend The Two Headed Man. The Paprika Salt Rm elevates this cocktail and we look forward to heading in for another one.

Cheers!

The Bowery was created to bring people together for great fun and great food.”

In my opinion they nailed their concept and we can not wait to return with and without the kiddos!

The Team: Cousins Nick Marolachakis and Nick Galanis began their entrepreneurial journey partnering with long-time friend Matthew Kouskalis to buy 5 Manhattan locations of popular organic burger restaurant, Bareburger. Happy with their success but hungry for more, the team decided to create an entirely new concept of their own: a restaurant that would express their creativity and bring a unique culinary and visual experience to the neighborhood. They agreed upon the most interactive and fun concept that they could think of—a carnival—and The Bowery was born.
