Kale Chips

Simple to make and delicious to eat!

Kale Chips are a great way to get your kids excited about eating leafy greens especially if they are in the kitchen with you preparing them and making them with you. I have found allowing my girls to prepare and cook foods in the kitchen with me gets them more excited to try more foods since they are involved in the process. When the food is ready to eat they are excited to try and let me know what they think of it.

Kale became one of the first leafy greens my girls tried and enjoyed eating. It is a superfood which is rich in antioxidants, fiber, and vitamin A.

In this recipe we use apple cider vinegar and when you buy your Apple Cider Vinegar be sure it says “with the mother”. With the mother simply means strands of protein (which contain enzymes and beneficial bacteria) and it is cloudier in appearance.

For this recipe you will need:

*Curly kale
*Olive Oil
*Apple Cider Vinegar
*Pink Himalayan Salt
*Everyday Seasoning from Trader Joe’s or a pepper seasoning of their choice

*You can use lemon juice and honey if you like, as well*

Directions:

For this recipe you will need a Mixing bowl, a Tablespoon, a Teaspoon, fork or spoon, Aluminum Foil and Baking sheet.

First, Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F.

You will need to clean your Kale and rip pieces of kale from the bunch. Lay the Kale onto paper towels and allow the water to be soaked up.

Then, in a bowl mix together your dressing. You will need 1 Tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil, 1 teaspoon of Pink Himalayan Salt and 2 teaspoons of Everyday seasoning. (Depending on how much kale chips you make you may need to double this recipe).

* If you want the dressing to be more sweet add a tablespoon of honey and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice.

Put your dry and clean kale pieces into your mixing bowl and with a fork mix your kale around and get the dressing on all of the pieces.

Then, on a parchement paper covered baking sheet lay your kale pieces onto the sheet with space in between each piece.

Bake in the 325 degree F oven for 5 to 6 minutes. I then flip the pieces over and bake for another 3 minutes.

We like them crispy.

Serve and Enjoy!

This makes such a great snack and we love making it together in the kitchen.

We hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do!
