A recipe that will keep your family warm during the winter season.
I love my Chili when it is Beefy and topped with shredded cheese : )
This recipe is easy to follow and one your family will enjoy over and over again. There is nothing like a hot bowl of chili topped with cheese and served with some fresh-baked tortilla chips on a cold winter night.
To make this recipe you will need:
1 pound of ground beef
1 can of whole kennel corn (drained)
1 can of Bush’s Pinto Chili Beans
1 can of red kidney beans
1 can of diced tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 cup of diced sweet peppers (variety of colors)
olive oil
salt
pepper
2 Tbsp of cayenne pepper
Shredded Mexican Cheese Blend
Directions:
In a saute pan add about 2 Tbsp of Olive oil and heat the pan and oil on the stove top. Have the temperature on a medium heat.
Add in the onion and wait till they get tender and turn a golden brown then add in your ground beef. Cook the ground beef till it is cooked through.
Make sure to chop it up as you are cooking it.
Do not drain the pan!
Once the ground beef is cooked and has a nice char to it ( I like my beef well done) then add in the beans, corn and diced tomatoes. Only drain the corn add all of the liquid from the tomato and bean cans. The Bush’s Chili Pinto Beans are amazing and add such an amazing flavor to the Chili.
I love the Mini Sweet Peppers that are sold at Costco. They are always fresh and delicious and when you add them to a meal they add so much flavor.
Dice up the peppers (about 1 cup or a little more if you like) and then add them to your saute pan as well.
Cover the saute pan with its lid on for about 10 minutes on a medium setting.
Uncover and add in your cayenne pepper, salt and pepper ( I add in about 2 Tbsp of each ). Stir the spices all together in the Chili and mix well.
Cover the saute pan and let the Chili simmer on a low setting stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes.
A little something extra…
While the Chili is simmering and blending its amazing flavors together; why not make some delicious homemade baked tortilla chips—-> click here for directions
