Meet Laurie who we have chosen as our Shining Child of the Month for December.
Her compassion and love for animals is inspiring.
Laurie is 11 years old and she volunteers every Saturday morning with her dad at Save-A-Pet. They mainly clean the cat cages, feeding the cats, and pet the cats. She loves making animals feel loved and well cared for and believes that every animal matters a whole lot.
She has always loved animals and she even has a dog named Bowie, 2 guinea pigs named Perry and Nibbles, and 3 fish named Splash, Bubble, and Glob.
According to Lars Husebo (her dad), “Laurie is an avid animal lover by nature and loves all animals big or small. She takes horseback riding lessons and is learning how to take good care of horses. In our neighborhood, Laurie goes on walks to pet the neighbors’ cats who sometimes await her.”
