Interactive Story Time – The Snowy Day

We had a great time sharing The Snowy Day, by Ezra Jack Keats with our little friends at the Sweetbriar Nature Center yesterday!  Thank you to all the families who braved the cold weather to join us for our monthly interactive story time.

The Snowy Day is a beautifully illustrated book that features a little boy exploring his neighborhood after a snowfall.  As cold as it was outside, we did not have any snow to experience the same wonderment, but that didn’t stop us from being creative and having fun!  After reading the story, the kids had a chance to create their own illustrations with puffy paint.

We made our own Puffy Paint by mixing equal parts of shaving cream and glue.  And the result was simply beautiful!

The children did a great job with their parents creating these fun Snowy Day projects.

Big THANKS to Michelle Conlon for assisting our little artists with their puffy paint masterpieces!

Join us again at Sweetbriar’s Nature Center on February 10th at 1:00 PM for our next interactive story time!

In December we read The Mitten at Sweetbriar Nature Center
