Christmas in July Event

On Thursday July 30th we held a Christmas in July event at the American Legion Hall in Patchogue with vendors, family fun and of course Mr. and Mrs. Claus were visiting Long Island all the way from the North Pole to visit the children and support Sunrise Day Camp along with Momee Friends of Long Island.

The night of the event was perfect summer weather for a great indoor and outdoor event. We were so happy to provide a fun experience for families to come to and enjoy a night of early Christmas shopping as well as enjoy some early holiday fun.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus waited inside to greet all the kids in their camping chairs. And thanks to the Long Island Greyhound Connection we had adorable Greyhound Reindeer waiting to greet everyone.

The Long Island Greyhound Connection, Inc is a 501 (C) (3) organization
run exclusively by volunteers dedicated to educating the public about
ex-racing greyhounds and finding homes for these deserving dogs.

Inside we had a kiddie pool filled with Play Snow for the kids to enjoy! As you can see the kids got right into the play snow and the parents were surprised that it only took two ingredients to make the play snow: conditioner and baking soda.

Inside you were able to meet Mrs. Claus and her elves of Cookie’s Crafts. They had great crafts for purchase at very affordable prices.

I saw this fun game on Pinterest called Don’t Ring the Bells so I had to have it for this event. The kids did a great job at crawling low enough to not ring the bells.

And we threw summer snowballs through the hole to Olaf!

My favorite part of this event was receiving donations of brand new toys for the children of Sunrise Day Camp.

I want to thank everyone who donated and for supporting Sunrise Day Camp!

Sunrise Day Camp–Long Island is the world’s first full-summer day camp for children with cancer and their siblings, provided completely free of charge. The fun, friendship and smiles continue year round through various camp-like programs and in-hospital services.

Again thank you to all the vendors and volunteers who made this event happen. It means so much to us!
