Can you believe it is August already? Summer is halfway over and then school starts, again.
What is on your Summer Bucket List? Have you checked off a bunch?
When you think Summer there are some things that just come to mind. I know we always love making smores, having a family picnic at one of our local parks, building sandcastles at one of our local beaches, catching lightning bugs and so much more. We try and fill our summer with lots of family fun and memories that will last a lifetime. And, I always take lots of pictures so we can really remember those memories and enjoy looking back on all the fun we had.
Living on Long Island we always enjoy doing things that only Long Islanders can do. Here are some of our suggestions for some family summer fun that maybe you will add to your summer bucket list, too:
1. Ride on the Nunley’s Carousel
“Nunley’s Carousel is located in its own building adjacent to the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Museum Row.
Admission is $2.00 per rider and everyone on the carousel is required to have a ticket! 41 horses and a lion await you on this legendary, over 100 year old, beautifully restored carousel.”
If you are from Long Island you have to visit The Big Duck and get a family photo. It is a historical piece of architecture that will make you smile. If you visit when the museum and souvenir shop is open you will be able to take home something with a duck on it and your kids will want a duck souvenir, too. So many ducks in one small area and it is awesome.
(don’t make a trip just for the Big Duck it is not where you will spend most of your day. It is within 15 minutes of Splish Splash or the Long Island Aquarium)
Long Island is so lucky to have such an AMAZING water park where there is something for everyone! Whether you like to relax poolside or want a thrill you will be very satisfied after the completion of your visit to Splish Splash Water Park. We highly recommend visiting with your family and friends.
Momee Friend Promotion: Splish Splash Admission Ticket- Good for the rest of the 2018 season
We have a great list of things to do that do not cost much money at all and some are even FREE!, yes FREE! Whether you like to listen to an outdoor concert, go to the movies, bowl with family and friends, roller skate or get crafty we have something that may interest you this summer… HERE
