As we approach the anniversary of September 11th, we invite you to join us for a special screening that offers an opportunity to reflect on the lives changed forever by the events of that day, and the enduring strength of those who came together in its aftermath.

Presented in partnership with the Stony Brook WTC Health & Wellness Program, 9/11: An American Requiem brings together personal stories that offer a deeply human perspective on September 11 and its lasting impact. The screening will be followed by a conversation featuring members of the film’s creative team and Long Island responders who experienced these events firsthand.

Released a decade after the attacks of September 11, 2001, 9/11: An American Requiem gives voice to the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, construction workers, and other responders who answered the call in America’s darkest hour. Drawn from the Remembering 9/11 oral history project, this powerful documentary weaves together firsthand accounts of courage, sacrifice, loss, and renewal, creating a powerful portrait of resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy. Through deeply personal testimony, the film honors a generation whose service, brotherhood, and perseverance helped a nation begin to heal. (2011, 93 mins, English)
