Looking to make a difference this holiday season? There are ways you can make a difference or even donate your time to a wonderful non-profit on Long Island, HELP Suffolk.
HELP Suffolk is a temporary housing facility located in Bellport, NY. At HELP, we provide housing for 76 homeless families from across Suffolk County. We have about 300 people living on-site on any given day, most of them children. While a family is living at HELP we offer services including case management, employment assistance, GED, child care, housing assistance, we have an RN on-site in our medical office and a full recreation program. We try to offer as much assistance as we can to the families at our shelter, while they are struggling with many of life’s obstacles.
Homework never ends.
It’s amazing how the new year truly begins in September. The school year is off and running. The first year of schooling is always touted as the opportunity, the chance to construct and to improve their understanding of the world around them and their place in that world.
Are you ready to take a walk on the wild side? Do you and your kids love reptiles?
Then you have got to head to the coolest store on Long Island … Jungle Bob’s Reptile World.
Whether you are into snakes, lizards, bearded dragons, tortoises or just cool reptiles in general then Jungle Bob’s Reptile World will have something for you to love.
Little Steps Great Success was created in early 2012 by two teachers with a combined 20 years of experience in the field of special education and autism. Toniann Giordano is a special education teacher and Amy Bitondo is a special education teacher as well as a BCBA.
Their mission is to educate children while involving family members to ensure that everyone as well as the child with autism or another developmental disability can know how to handle “any bumps in the road” and function in the world. Their program is fantastic; Toniann and Amy use art therapy, dance and music therapy in their socialization groups.
“At Little Steps Great Success, we are dedicated to making the world of Applied Behavior Analysis accessible to parents and families whose children benefit from ABA.”
