Blissful Bedtime Yoga Sequence

While this time of year is fun and exciting, I think us mamas also find there is a certain level of stress that comes along with it. We are so busy making sure everyone is going to find what they asked for under the tree, baking for the classroom and holiday parties, attending school plays and recitals, it can be really easy to forget to take care of ourselves. Who else finds that the stresses from the day hit hardest right at bedtime? As soon as I close my eyes and lay my head down, my mind goes into overdrive – making lists and remembering all of the things I should have gotten done during the day, but didn’t get to.

When I feel the stresses from the day are going to affect my sleep, I have a bedtime yoga sequence that I turn to. This yoga sequence can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes, or more if you choose to spend more time in the poses, but even after 5 minutes I’ve found the tension is released from my mind and body, and I can go on to enjoy a peaceful slumber.

Holiday Movie Workout

It’s officially December! It’s hard to believe 2017 is winding down, but before we can start thinking about 2018, we first get to enjoy this holiday season.

I love the holidays – the lights, the decorations, the carols, but one of my most favorite things about this time of year is watching holiday movies! Elf, The Grinch, Christmas Vacation, Frosty the Snowman, The Year Without a Santa Claus, I love them all ❤ ❤ ❤

Curling up on the couch with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate is my idea of a perfect night, but since these movies are on TV all the time, I sometimes find myself sitting on the couch longer than I would like. So, for those chilly afternoons when we have a Christmas movie playing in the background we started playing a little game called the Holiday Movie Workout!  This is a great way to have fun on a family movie night or to burn a little extra energy if you find yourselves cooped up inside on a snowy day.

Thanksgiving Exercises

With the sudden onset of winter we are going a little stir crazy over here.

 

Combine that with the shorter days, and we are taking advantage to get outside any chance we get.
