It is Fall and there is no better crafting item than the leaves that are falling down throughout the season.
This is a fun and easy activity that makes beautiful pictures to display throughout the season.
I can guarantee you have all the supplies for this already in your house (or outside!) : )
Supplies needed:
Leaf (big or medium size)- too small doesn’t work as well
Paint
Paintbrush
Construction Paper
Paper Plate (to display all your paint colors)
Steps:
First, take your leaf and paint all over it the variety of fall colors ( red, green, brown, orange, yellow)
Carefully, place the leaf face down on the paper.
*Make sure to pat down the stem too*
and Lift the leaf up slowly
Your child will love doing this over and over again!
and as long as you are gentle with the leaf the same leaf will work over and over again during the duration of using it for this project.
*Note: The Leaf will begin to wilt after a few hours
Want to do this project again? Just head out doors and find more leaves.
Make this a fun learning lesson and talk about all the leaves of Long Island
or use the leaves for another art project we just love using those crunchy leaves:
