Valentine’s Day Chocolates

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you think of Valentine’s Day? Love, hearts, cards, red? For me, it’s definitely chocolate! As a kid I loved waking up to find that little red heart full of chocolates waiting for me on the dining room table, and the truth is, I wouldn’t be disappointed to wake up to one now. Thanksgiving Leftover Ideas

The day after Thanksgiving is full of relaxation, shopping, and lots and lots of leftovers! My fridge is filled to the brim with leftover turkey, stuffing, potatoes, all that good stuff. Does anyone else plan how much food they are going to cook to make sure there are plenty of leftovers to go around?

Lunch the day after Thanksgiving was always my favorite! I would make a big open faced turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, turkey, and whatever else looked like it would be tasty on there.

The Physiological Benefits Your Children Gain from Outdoor Play

In a digital age where every individual owns a gadget or even two, it can be difficult to encourage children to play outdoors. Most of today’s kids would rather stay at home and play games on their tablets or smartphones.

Based on Jenny Anderson’s report on, American kids spend about 18.6 hours of play time using their gadgets. Interestingly, it was also revealed that 62% of parents want their children to have more outside play. While this is currently an inescapable reality, it’s the parents’ responsibility to regulate their children’s screen time and introduce more play time. Playing outdoors is proven to give a child a range of benefits, from physical to social, mental and emotional.
