Everybody in the pool! Four Ways to Have a Safer Summer with Goldfish Swim School
At Goldfish Swim School, we believe that every child needs to have the skills to be safer around water. Whether your kids are already splashing around the pool, adventurous toddlers jumping in for the first time, or tentative little ones who need extra encouragement, it’s time to think about summer water safety.
We all love animals don’t we? We have some wonderful places to visit on Long Island where the staff takes care of some incredible animals and educates the community on how we can help and protect them, as well.
I recommend visiting all of the places listed below with your family. They are all wonderful.

Do you love Laurie Berkner as much as we do?
We love watching her you-tube channel and singing and dancing to her music (whether we are at home or driving in our car). But, did you know that Laurie has a couple of children’s books out, too?
We are the Dinosaurs was our first children’s book by Laurie Berkner and now we are enjoying the adorable story, Pillowland. What we love about Pillowland is that it is a whimsical adventure story with a soothing and relaxing tone. We love pretending “we are riding a pillow train… Choo Choo!” A perfect bedtime story. It is one of our new favorites and I think it would be one of your new bedtime favorites, too.
“I Love My Park Day is an annual event that brings together thousands of volunteers to celebrate and enhance New York’s parks, historic sites, and public lands.”
There are many beautiful parks and campgrounds exist throughout New York State. Where will you volunteer?
” Volunteers clean up park lands and beaches, plant trees and gardens, restore trails and wildlife habitat and remove invasive species. Parks & Trails New York, the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation coordinate this event, and park staff and local friends’ groups work with volunteers and oversee activities. Last year, more than 125 state parks, historic sites and public lands hosted I Love My Park Day events.”
The Arbor Day Foundation promotes the planting, nurturing, and the celebrating of trees. Ways to celebrate is by visiting our local Botanical Gardens, Arboretums, and Nature Preserves. Want to have fun with your kids today? We have some fun craft ideas to help educate our kids about the importance of trees.
