As always we have so much fun crafting with Elizabeth Hashagen on News 12 Long Island. We decided to get crafty for New Years so that we can keep the kids entertained before midnight. Let’s be honest it is hard for the little ones to stay up so we have some ideas to make it fun.
Celebrate the New Year with these fun Pom Pom Poppers!
Stretch the bottom of the balloon out and then release it while you have the Pom Pom Popper facing up. You will see the pom poms travel high and your kids will love playing with this throughout the day on New Years Eve or if they can make it till midnight use it then.
Recycled Material Noise Makers:Materials I used were water bottles and plastic containers filed with leftover jingle bells from Christmas, curly ribbon (in festive colors), and pom poms. Just shake them up at midnight to let everyone know it is the New Year!
Paper Cup New Year Hats
These look so cute on and are so inexpensive to make. All you need is: black paper cups (DOLLAR TREE) , Silver Garland (DOLLAR TREE), and Puffy Paint, Gem Stickers (optional), Scotch Double Sided Tape, hole puncher and ribbon.
Directions: All I did was put double-sided tape along the bottom rim of the cup so that the garland would attach to it.
I punched two holes one on each side of the cup to put ribbon through so we can attach it to the top of our heads. Lastly, I decorated the cup using Puffy Paint and Colorful Sticker Gems.
Countdown Plate
This is a fun and easy craft using a paper plate, construction paper and colorful stickers.
Have your child make a wishing wand craft to write their New Year’s Wish or Resolution on. They will have fun decorating it and using it throughout your party.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
