DIY Backyard Hopscotch made from Pavers

Add the classic game of hopscotch to your yard with these colorful pavers that you can create yourself for an inexpensive do-it-yourself project.

One of my favorite things to do as a child was to play hopscotch with my mom.  I could spend countless hours jumping through the boxed pattern we drew on the driveway with chalk. My daughters share the same love for this classic game as I did and my mom did. When I saw the idea of making hopscotch with pavers to put into the mulch bed I have our playground equipment in, I knew I had to make this.

All you need is:

*10 Pavers – Square Gray Patio Stone (Common: 12-in x 12-in; Actual: 11.7-in x 11.7-in)

*Outdoor Patio Paint – Acrylic, Water Resistant-  you will need 2 oz. per paver

( I did 10 different colors but you can do 5 different colors, too)

*Outdoor Patio Paint- Acrylic, Water Resistant White and Black Paints for the numbers

Acrylic Spray Sealer/Finisher, Matte

Paint Brushes

      Directions:

Lay your Pavers out and dust them off. Apply one coat of paint any color you want to each paver. Let Dry.

Once completely dry, add your numbers to each Paver. I did a white number with a black outline to make the numbers pop of the bright colors I chose. Once the numbers are dry seal the paint with the Acrylic Spray Sealer. I did this twice. Once dry put the Pavers wherever you like.

Make sure there is enough room for the game of hopscotch to be played safely. You need enough room to start behind the #1 Paver and enough room to end after the #10 paver.

We hope you have as much fun with this DIY project as we have.
