This program is designed by bowling centers to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way for kids to spend time this summer. The program is for children ages 15 and under.
What Spending a Summer at STEM Camp Can Do for a Child’s Future
Preparing for the future is no easy task, largely because it is unknown. While we can never know exactly what the future holds, there are enough clues and trends to help us start painting a picture of what it could look like. For example, it’s clear technology is driving today’s world, and will continue to impact the years ahead—to an even larger extent, at that. We also know that in 10 years, there will be more technology jobs than there will be qualified people to fill them.
Is anyone else having trouble believing we are in the last few days of 2017?! This year flew by and to be honest, I’m a little sad to see it end. 2017 was a year of ups and downs, but with that came a lot of growth and learning, and exciting new opportunities. I’m excited to see what 2018 will bring.
With the new year comes New Year’s Resolutions. I love to spend some time on New Year’s Eve really thinking about my goals and what I want to accomplish in the coming year. Creating those resolutions is always so exciting – I feel so motivated and energized, like I can do anything. And I hold onto that feeling for the first few weeks, maybe even a month or two, but then it starts to taper off…sound familiar?
While this time of year is fun and exciting, I think us mamas also find there is a certain level of stress that comes along with it. We are so busy making sure everyone is going to find what they asked for under the tree, baking for the classroom and holiday parties, attending school plays and recitals, it can be really easy to forget to take care of ourselves. Who else finds that the stresses from the day hit hardest right at bedtime? As soon as I close my eyes and lay my head down, my mind goes into overdrive – making lists and remembering all of the things I should have gotten done during the day, but didn’t get to.
When I feel the stresses from the day are going to affect my sleep, I have a bedtime yoga sequence that I turn to. This yoga sequence can take anywhere from 5-10 minutes, or more if you choose to spend more time in the poses, but even after 5 minutes I’ve found the tension is released from my mind and body, and I can go on to enjoy a peaceful slumber.
