Garden City is a town filled with fun for the entire family.
This Nassau County town is known for restaurants that local parents recommend not only for family dining but for a date night, too. Check out our list of local businesses to visit in Garden City.
We love Museum Row… Cradle of Aviation, Firefighters Museum, Long Island Children’s Museum and Nunley’s Carousel!
These are all Long Island gems that we recommend going to.
Cradle of Aviation:
“Explore over 150,000 square feet featuring 75 air and spacecraft from a hot air balloon to an actual Apollo Lunar Module…”
When you walk around the museum you will be in awe of how much there is to see and how cool everything is. There is over a half- dozen cockpits to climb into and over 30 interactive exhibits to keep the little ones entertained as you learn about Long Island’s role in aerospace.
“Nunley’s Carousel is located in its own building adjacent to the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Museum Row.
Admission is $2.00 per rider and everyone on the carousel is required to have a ticket! 41 horses and a lion await you on this legendary, over 100 year old, beautifully restored carousel.”
The Museum is two levels filled with things to do, explore and enjoy.
Have fun with your family as you experience, “14 interactive exhibits plus live theater, art spaces and daily activities to provide hours of discovery for children of all ages.”
Momee Friend Recommendations:
We asked our local parents their favorite spots in Garden City and besides Museum Row they mentioned the following places listed below. We have not been to the following locations but, look forward to checking them out soon.

One mom said,”There’s a pottery paint spot for kids it’s called Once Upon a Dish that is a lot of fun”.
On their Facebook page they say,” Once Upon A Dish is a fabulous, fun, paint-your-own-pottery studio for children and adults to relax, create and learn. No experience necessary to create one of a kind, totally functional, unique pottery.”
