We are so excited to be part of this virtual book tour and start our day with a positive affirmation like, “I Am Awesome!” We love reading this book as a family and it truly makes you feel so good about yourself after reading it.
“Do your children know how awesome they are? Follow along as two robots named Grace and Zeal learn that self-confidence is not only a good thing, it’s what God intended. God made you awesome because he loves you! So, no matter how old you are, you have everything you need to believe in yourself and live with a God-powered confidence. At the end of this incredible story, you will be shouting – I am awesome!”
I love reading this book in the beginning of the day or at night time with the girls because the message of “I AM AWESOME” is a great way to start or end your day. I think we can all agree with that? , Right? I love that the characters live in Goodland and the inventor (who my girl’s identified right away as God in the story) takes the time to sit with the two characters in the book, Grace and Zeal to tell them why they are more than just good they are awesome.
The book is filled with positivity and helps boost your child’s confidence. One of my favorite lines in the book is “You have the ability to take the awesome inside of you and multiply it throughout Goodland!”

Ryan was asked…
What advice do you have for parents interested in having these discussions about confidence and self-esteem with their children?
He replied by saying, “The best way to start a dialogue between you and your children about self-esteem and confidence is to help them see and understand their own awesome first. It’s hard to choose awesome and start believing in yourself without understanding what it feels like inside to actually be awesome.
So, the biggest and most important step is to build them up by communicating how awesome you think they are. As parents, we find no trouble in providing constant and continuous love for our children. We say I love you, give kisses and hugs, but a lot of time we spend so much time communicating affection that we forget to communicate recognition. Your child can’t believe they are awesome until they believe that YOU think they’re awesome first! Your children need to be told “I’m proud of you,” “you did an awesome job,” “you are the most awesome boy/girl I know.” You may be surprised at the responses and even the questions that come up with these statements, which will help you realize how important and profound these moments really are. If you don’t tell them how awesome they really are, then who will?”
Ryan’s response to this question was wonderful and I agree that our child’s confidence grows and begins at home. We have the power as parents to make our kids feel good about themselves.
