Family traditions can be a great way of getting closer to your children and creating a deeper bond. When many people think of these, they usually assume it has to be something relatively large, like a yearly holiday. Far from it. It could be more seemingly minor than you’d think, while still letting you get closer to your family.

All you’d need to do is pick a tradition for a family night in and stick to it regularly. Figuring something out doesn’t need to be difficult, though. There are more than a few great ideas for a family night in you can choose from, with five of these standing out. With a little bit of effort, you’ll be feeling closer to your kids than you would’ve thought.

  1. Home Video Night – If you have any homemade videos of your kids from their younger days, such as from birthday parties, then it’s always worth breaking these out for a family night in. You’ll be looking back on positive memories, which should help you feel closer than ever going forward.
  2. Board Game Night – Board  games have been providing family fun for decades, so why not consider picking up your FanRoll dice and breaking out the games? You and your kids are set for an amazing time without needing to put too much time or effort into this.
  3. Backyard Campout Night – If you have a large enough back yard, then a campout night can be a great way to have a family night. You don’t need to have a forest at your doors to enjoy this. Since you’re so close to home, you wouldn’t even need to worry about the weather too much, either.
  4. Home Restaurant Night – Restaurants are always great for a night out, but you can always recreate this experience for a fun night in with your family. Let your kids create the signs and menu, prepare the food, and you’re sure to have an amazing and fun time. With a little effort, you’ll feel like you’re in a completely different place.
  5. Costume Night – Who doesn’t love a funny costume? By having a costume night with your family, you can have a lot of fun without needing to put too much effort into it. All you’d really need to do is pick up a few silly outfits and clothes to mix and match together, and you’re good to go. Picking them up in a thrift store makes sure this is quite affordable.

You don’t have to struggle too hard to find some great ideas for a great night in. More than a few of them jump out and can be recommended. Focus on what you and your kids will enjoy, and you shouldn’t have a problem picking the right one for you.

A board game night, home video night, and even a home restaurant night can all be recommended. Not only will you better bond with your children, but you’ll all have a great time because of it.
