Fried Ice Cream Recipe

Have you had Fried Ice Cream? It is such an indulgent dessert that I crave every once in a while. I had to try and make this at home and it was an 8 out of 10 and delicious to eat. However, if you do not want to make it on your own I love and highly recommend the Fried Ice cream at a local restaurant of ours Plaza Margarita in Centereach, NY . It is the best!

Ingredients:

Vanilla Ice Cream

3 cups of corn flakes

2 tsp of cinnamon

2 eggs beaten

Oil for frying (I used vegetable oil)

Optional Toppings: Honey, Whipped Cream, Powdered Sugar, Chocolate Syrup, Cherry

 Directions:

1. Shape Ice Cream into Balls and freeze for at least 2 hours. I highly recommend using gloves to shape the ball and place on wax paper that would be on a plate so you can place in freezer. Try not to have the balls touch eachother so they do not freeze together. We used two different ice cream flavors and for some reason the vanilla froze better and friend better, as well.

 2. Beat 2 eggs to make an egg wash

3. Crush cornflakes in a separate bowl and mix cinnamon into it

 4. After freezing the ice cream ball roll into crushed cinnamon cornflakes then the egg wash and then the crushed cinnamon cornflakes, again.

 5. Freeze for at least another hour

 6. Fry in heated oil of at least 375 degrees F for 10 to 15 seconds (until golden brown)

 7. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy

Let me know if you liked this recipe. Would love to hear how yours turned out.
