We love to read all year long and in the Summer we have even more time to read the books we love since there is less of a routine since school is out for the summer months.
Reading is always rewarding but, we are excited to share with you how your child(ren) can be rewarded for their Summer Reading this summer.
Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Free Book Giveaway

Second-Lady-Summer-Reading Challenge
“This summer, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding, we are excited to invite all children (K-8) to join in the Second Lady’s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. Participants will read and track 12 books of their choice between June 1 and September 4. Every book counts!
When you finish your 12 books, ask your parents/guardians to let us know, and we will send you a personalized certificate, an America 250th anniversary-themed bookmark, and a special link to receive a prize! Head to your Local Public Library
Head to your local Library and join their Summer Reading Program! Not only do they offer a summer reading program for kids, you can also sign up your teen and yourself. Our whole family signed up at our local library. The programs and resources that your local library offers are incredible. We highly encourage taking advantage of all the great things they offer for all ages.
Suffolk County Library Tour
Between July 1st and August 31st, pick up a Summer Tour booklet at your local library. While you visit, be sure to find that library’s Prehistoric Creature poster & place one corresponding sticker in the provided space. Then, locate their Stamp Station to receive a stamp and a collectable Prehistoric Creature trading card!
On the tour, you’ll see new sites, explore new libraries, and have the chance to be entered into exciting raffles!
5 Library Stamps: One entry into a raffle for a $50 Barnes & Noble gift card.
15 Library Stamps: One entry into a raffle for a $100 Barnes & Noble gift card.
25 Library Stamps: One entry into a raffle for a $250 Barnes & Noble gift card.
At your 25th library you will earn the official title of Summer Tour Library-saurus and receive a special commemorative patch!*

Once you hit each of the above milestones, show it to a library staff member and they will give you a raffle ticket to fill out.
To be included in the raffles you must show your stamps at any library by August 31st.
