Creating should be fun and using different materials like using pom poms on clothespins and using q-tips as your “paintbrush” can be so fun. We enjoyed stamping the pom poms to make large paint dots and the q-tips to add smaller and colorful circles.

I had some old cardstock in my craft bin so we cut some fun fall shapes like a ghost, pumpkin, bat and leaves. I used painters’ tape to attach the image to the center of the canvas. For some reason it did not stay in place the way I wanted to but, the end result for us was just fine. We used a sharpie to make the outline of the shape more pronounced and then added some smile details.

They are colorful and fun and I have to say we had a lot of fun making them. I will definitely be using pom poms on clothespins and q-tips for painting again. It was a lot of fun.

Have you used any other materials to make a “paintbrush”? We love creating.
