The Very Hungry Caterpillar Craft

An easy craft to do with your kids using paints, toilet paper rolls and a straw on a white piece of construction paper.

My inspiration came from Eric Carle’s Facebook page where he mentioned that he is celebrating the 45th anniversary of this classic book.

I love Crayola Washable Paints so we used these along with the toilet paper rolls to make the head and body.

Mia loves painting with toilet paper tubes.

Her smile when she creates is the best part of our art time.

Next using a straw I added the yellow paint to the picture.

With the yellow I made the eyes, and curved over the top of the caterpillar.

Next I used the brown paint with the straw.

and lastly the Green paint with the straw.

Here is my Very Hungry Caterpillar complete and my daughter Mia’s.

I love Mia’s picture of the Very Hungry Caterpillar.

We love painting with toilet paper tubes and other items like straws. It is a fun way to create without using paintbrushes.

A Momee craft from my house to yours.
