We had such a wonderful time at Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown this past Saturday. We saw some familiar faces and enjoyed a lot of new ones too.
Sweetbriar everyday connects the community with Wildlife and their grounds are beautiful. At the Butterfly and Bird Wildlife Festival there were talented craftsmanship vendors, family entertainment, Long Island Children’s Authors, animal rescues and so much more…
At the Momee Friends of Long Island area families and individuals were welcomed to check out all we have to offer as well as show their support for Inclusion by tracing their hand and placing it on our Inclusion flower.
We had a lot of smiling faces join us in supporting our mission of planting seeds of ACCEPTANCE, AWARENESS AND INCLUSION.
And this little girl is Alice who used scissors for the first time to cut out her hand and support INCLUSION with us. YEAH for Alice! What a great accomplishment : ) Her parents were so proud of her. What a great family.
At our table we had a donation area for The BOOK FAIRIES and we had a nice amount of book donations from local families. We thank you so much for your support I know that the children who receive these books will be so happy.
The kids were able to make Pipe Cleaner/ Cheerios Bird Feeders with us and they did a great job.
We love our Long Island Children’s Authors and the books they have all written are wonderful. At the event families were able to meet and buy autographed books from the five talented authors pictured below: Darren Sardelli, Natasha Guruleva, Linda Frank, Tim Hoppey, and Sandy Lanton.
Read about each author below:
