Meet our Shining Child of the Month for June Kaylee Diaz from Ronkonkoma. Kaylee is generous and cares for others. She thinks selflessly and is inspiring.

Kaylee is a beautiful 8 year old girl with a generous heart. She is doing random acts of kindness in her community and it is inspiring.

Kaylee was nominated by her mom Cheryl who wrote me saying:

“I would love to nominate my daughter Kaylee to be the shining child in her community who needs to be recognized here on Long Island.  

Kaylee has done such wonderful acts of Kindness within the community over the past few years.  In October of 2013, Kaylee donated 8 inches of her hair to children with cancer.  This past year, Kaylee was given an Apple Award in school for “Random Acts of Kindness” as she assisted/supported a child with a disability in her class.  This past school year, Kaylees friend Alexa (since Kindergarten) was diagnosed with Leukemia, since October 2014 she has designated her time in being the “mystery caller” to Alexa to put a simple smile on her face, participated in a fundraiser with her cheer team to sell cheerleading bows to give the family money to assist with medical bills, and also has recently gotten a green hair extension as a locks of love for Alexa and purchased some summer items with her own money to give to the friend Alexa and her sister to ensure they have a great summer while she is going through her chemo treatments. “

Just this past month Kaylee cut her hair again. She cut 8 inches off and donated her locks for a beautiful cause.

Kaylee has inspired Momee Friends to do a Ponytail Drive in her honor and the date will be announced soon! Kaylee thanks for the Inspiration you Shine and Congratulations for being our Shining Child of the Month for June. : )
