There is a new Christmas tradition happening in Riverhead, NY! It is the Christmas House Long Island where the spirit of Christmas lives and the creators are bursting with joy to share it with all those who visit. The girls and I had the pleasure of visiting the Christmas House Long Island before they opened their doors to the public and Justin Schwartz one of the co-creators and their staff were delightful and made us eager for the Christmas season to begin.
Visitors will walk through each room of this 8,000 square foot indoor, multi-room experience. Christmas House Long Island brings to life all your Christmas and Holiday sights, sounds, smells and memories. “Each of the ten rooms have been curated by actual Hollywood set designers using creative lighting and theatrical effects that bring to life all the sights, sounds, lights, decorations, ornaments and characters associated with the holiday season, with some interesting twists.”
We began our visit in the first room where you are drawn to one cuddly guy. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE GIANT BEAR WHO GIVES HUGS! He is so cute and who wouldn’t love a Christmas Teddy Bear? This is a great spot to take a photo and would look great on your Christmas card this year.
Don’t worry after every group leaves each room it is sanitized before the next group comes in to visit. The Christmas House is taking all precautions and following CDC Guidelines. There are hand sanitizing stations as well throughout the Christmas House. Due to state guidelines, they have a set number of tickets and time slots available each day so everyone can enjoy their experience.
Your family will be in awe as you walk through the cake walk. These cakes are stunning and your kids will be so excited to show you each one as they recognize the characters from beloved movies and iconic scenes from movies. The cake creator and designer, Andy Ortega truly outdid himself with these and if you want you can check out his work on Instagram @cuttingedgecakery .
Talking about beloved Christmas movies, your family will love the Elf room. You might recognize a few fun things in this room from the movie. But, don’t worry there are no “cotton headed ninny muggins” around the Christmas House to dull your Christmas Spirit.
We had so much fun exploring the rooms. We have some fun photos below from our experience and we hope you have as much fun as we did. Be sure to look around each room so you don’t miss out on any of the fun decorations to go with each theme. I am sure you will recognize a bunch and your kids will be excited to show you some along the way, too.
