“Long before I had children of my own, my passion was found in early childhood.  I had the privilege of learning from the best working at a play based child care center throughout undergrad where I truly witnessed the wonder in open ended play experiences. I learned the importance of caring for the “whole child” : the physical, intellectual, creative, emotional, social. The passions and gifts that were inside me were ignited and I went on the earn my Masters degree in Early Childhood Education, taught for a year and then started the wondrous journey of motherhood. It is a dream come true to take all that I’ve learned and experienced and pour into children of my own.  As I became a parent I started to see the things that come as second nature to me, were foreign to some. So with some encouragement, I decided to share our favorite activities with others through Everyday Wonder. My goal is to make it easy to engage our kids in explorative, open-ended play. Specifically sensory play, “loose parts” play, and STEM focused activities. I believe that giving kids the opportunity to explore their world, to make messes, and to engage in unhindered open-ended play creates little world changers.  I also hope to be a voice that ignites an outlook of joy and wonder in the way we see our kids, because yes parenthood is tough and exhausting but it is a beautiful opportunity to learn and grow together!”
