New Dinosaur Exhibit opening at LICM on May 17th:

The newest exhibit that will be at The Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City will be a DINO-riffic time for all ages. The fun begins May 17th and will be at the museum until August 31st.

Dinosaurs: Fossils Exposed, sponsored by Bank of America, invites you to explore the bones and fossils of iconic giants like the towering T-Rex and the majestic Triceratops. You’ll have the chance to see and even touch six full dinosaur skeletal molds, along with additional molds of skulls, arms, legs, eggs, footprints and even the femur of one of the largest land animals! Dinosaurs: Fossils Exposed was conceptualized by the Museum of Discovery, Little Rock, Arkansas.

What to Expect:

  • Dig Like a Paleontologist: Use real paleontologist tools to uncover dinosaur bones at our dig site. Learn how fossils are discovered and what they tell us about the past!
  • Meet the Dinosaurs: Get up close to full-size replicas of dinosaurs, from the powerful Triceratops to the speedy Velociraptor. Discover fun facts about their habits and habitats!
  • Examine Real Fossils: Look at preserved dinosaur bones, footprints, and fossilized eggs. Learn how these fossils help scientists understand how dinosaurs lived.
  • Dino Dimensions: Compare your height to the impressive 6’ 1” femur bone of an Apatosaurus (Brontosaurus). Discover what it was like to be one of the largest land animals!
