When the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame announced this exhibit I knew I wanted to bring my Dad and my two older daughters because I knew all three generations would enjoy this one-of-a-kind exhibit. We had the best time when we visited in January that I wanted to write another article highlighting how great of a family experience visiting the Long Island Hall of Fame is for kids, teens and adults. I encourage you to visit to not only see their Everybody Loves Raymond exhibit but, enjoy all the rare memorabilia of over 140 Long Island native inductees (like Twisted Sister, Taylor Dayne, Harry Chapin just to name a few) are displayed in the Hall of Fame Room and fans of Long Island’s own Piano Man will love the Billy Joel exclusive collection.
Everybody Loves Raymond Exhibit extends stay into 2027
The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame (LIMEHOF) has announced that due to popular demand, it will extend its exclusive exhibit, Everybody Loves Raymond: Celebrating 30 Yearsinto 2027 with no pre-determined closing date. Since opening at its Stony Brook Village location (97 Main Street) last November, the exhibit has attracted tens of thousands of visitors from across the country and proved to be a worthy successor to the hugely successful 2-year run of the previous exhibit, Billy Joel – My Life: A Piano Man’s Journey.
The popular family comedy series was nominated for 69 Emmy Awards and won 15. This show was ranked the 60th ‘best all-time series’ by TV Guide, the eleventh ‘best sitcom starring a stand-up comedian,’ and the 35th ‘best sitcom of all time’ by Rolling Stone. The show is set on Long Island, and the exhibit has the support of comedian and show star Ray Romano (a native of Queens), and show creator Philip Rosenthal(also Queens), and producer Rory Rosegarten (of Queens/Great Neck). The show also prominently featured Long Island comedian Kevin James (from Mineola).
There are some televison shows that just resonate with all generations and Everybody Loves Raymond is one of those shows that for over 30 years has been playing on televisions in the comfort of people’s homes over and over again with continuous laughter and relatable content. This iconic show aired on CBS from 1996 to 2005, spanning nine seasons and now we can see reruns on numerous stations throughout the day.
I think we can all agree that there is someone in your family that reminds you of one of the iconic characters in the show , especially if you are from Long Island, NY. Marie’s character reminds us of our beloved Nanny who we miss dearly, as she passed away 7 years ago and every time we watch the show we feel connected to Marie’s character. Doris Roberts not only looked and dressed like our Nanny but, her witty comments and her loveable and overbearing motherly ways are exactly how Nanny was. My girls have been watching this show with my parents and my husband and I for years and there is not one episode that we don’t crack up at. Some episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond we have seen so many times that we can recite the lines before they are even said in the show.
The exhibit was designed by LIMEHOF Creative Director and renowned designer, Kevin O’Callaghan who is from Baldwin, NY. Mr. Callaghan was just inducted into the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame on March 28, 2026 for his incredible career in design, teaching and being a creative leader. We had the honor of being walked through the exhibit with Mr. Callaghan as he told us his personal experiences with completing this design. The tour led by him was so incredible and one my family and I will not forget because we were able to walk through the world of the Barone family and explore their home through original studio sets. Visitors will love seeing the sets include the living room, the kitchen, and other areas of the house. Visitors will also be able to see a variety of iconic items, including original clothing, the famous fork and spoon, and the Christmas toaster, among other classic items from the series. Multimedia clips—including behind the scenes and rare out-takes and a range of videos related to the show can be seen, as well.

A wide range of celebrity visitors and Inductees have come though the doors included Billy Joel, Ray Romano, members of Blue Öyster Cult, Twisted Sister, Foghat, The Bangles, The Cowsills, Run DMC, Kurtis Blow, Public Enemy and many others.
In the past four years, the building has hosted a steady stream of Long Island and regional talent on display 52 weeks per year though its entertainment programs including induction ceremonies, Sunday Concert Series, Local Filmmaker Series, and balcony concerts.
LIMEHOF’s educational programs which award annual scholarships to music students and recognize local music teachers thought the Educator of Note Award. LIMEHOF also frequently hosts music master classes and launched its annual Summer Band Camp program and Comedy Classes.
Major celebrities have been honored to be inducted in the building including Steven Schwartz, the composer of Wicked and many other Broadway shows with a performance by 10 Broadway singers and his musical director Paul Schaffer. Other inductions that have taken place in the building include Wayne Robins, Roger Earl (of Foghat), Robin Wilson, The Fat Boys, The Illusion, DJ Jazzy Jay, Davy DMX, DJ Hurricane, Blackmore’s Night, The Hassles, Ernie Canadeo, Norm Prusslin, Jim Faith, Kevin O’Callaghan and Music Agent Dennis Arfa.
LIMEHOF is one of the most diverse Halls of Fame in the country, recognizing artists in a wide range of genres. Long Island is unique in that it has produced so much talent in nearly every genre of music all concentrated in one geographical area. To reflect this, LIMEHOF celebrated hip-hop’s 50th anniversary with many of the top hip-hop artists performing in concert. It also has upcoming music events as part of Hispanic Heritage Month.
LIMEHOF has also launched many innovative new programs including the LIMEHOF Music Documentary Film Festival – the first in the country – which won two “best of” awards in its first year. The film festival has grown significantly for its second year, expanding to feature 43 films from 11 countries being shown in two theaters this year.
Earlier this year, LIMEHOF hosted the first ever Billy Joel Symposium featuring music experts and scholars from ten different states across the country speaking about the music and cultural impact of the music of Billy Joel. Many more events are scheduled for the fall.
