Toy Collection for HELP Suffolk

Bring smiles to those in need this Christmas season.

HELP Suffolk in Bellport helps house families who have reached hard times and they help them get back on their feet. As a parent, when you reach the point of looking for help and then it is the Holiday season it brings on more stress. HELP Suffolk relies on donations from the community.

We would like to help the parents who would love to buy their child a gift but, do not have the extra means to do so. As a parent the most heartbreaking thing during the holidays would be not to be able to provide your child with a present. The joy of watching your child opening a present with excitement is something we all look forward to. But, imagine you really could not buy a gift for your child. Let’s give back during the most wonderful time of the year.

HELP Suffolk is a temporary housing facility located in Bellport, NY.  At HELP, we provide housing for 76 homeless families from across Suffolk County.  We have about 300 people living on-site on any given day, most of them children.  While a family is living at HELP we offer services including case management, employment assistance, GED, child care, housing assistance, we have an RN on-site in our medical office and a full recreation program.  We try to offer as much assistance as we can to the families at our shelter, while they are struggling with many of life’s obstacles.

Shining Child: Keith Passanante

It was with such great pride that Momee Friends was able to give special recognition to all of the children we recognized last year as our very first recipients of the Shining Child of the Month Award. Our Inspiring Child ceremony at the LATCP Playground even brought out County Executive Ed Mangano, who praised the amazing work that these young ones do.  Each one of them have a special mission and are making such a big impact in our communities.  In the days following our event, we were so pleased to see that the kids are even inspiring and supporting each other in their respective missions by helping to spread the word of  each other’s goals.
