Support the Brookhaven Wildlife Center by helping raise money for Pooh the resident Black Bear.
According to the Brookhaven Wildlife Center, Pooh says: “I am getting older, I am 19 years old now and have been struggling over the past few months, getting old is hard on us bears too. I have Osteoarthritis and it causes me pain and stiffness and I limp when I walk. Thankfully my fantastic veterinarians found a medication, and my wonderful caretakers give it to me when I need it. It helps me to feel better and it doesn’t hurt as much when I walk. The problem is it costs A LOT of money…..$400 a month!

Will the groundhog see their shadow tomorrow morning? That is the question we will be asking two groundhog’s here on Long Island, tomorrow.
I am talking about Malverne Mel and Holtsville Hal.
Holtsville Hal is pictured to the right- photo courtesy of www.longislandpress.com
Malverne Mel pictured to the left is a photo taken by www.newsday.com
Would you like to see either groundhog in person?
Today (April 22nd, 2013- Earth Day ) Mia and I went with a couple of friends to the Ecology Center to play at the playground and see the animals.
It is one of our favorite places with plenty of things to do there.
There are so many things to do here and it is free and open to the public ( but donations are appreciated )
My family loves it here and we will continue to go and support such a great site.
