Growing up my mom did a great job of trying to instill healthy eating habits in my brother, sister, and I.
Her philosophy was all about moderation – balanced meals, and limits when it came to snacks. However, that snack cabinet was full of all kinds of not-so-good for you things: chips, cookies, those pre-packaged cakes, and always ice cream in the freezer. Now trust me, as a kid I had no complaints about these options, but as a mom my feelings on these snacks have changed a bit.
Happy Friday! So, I had a different post written up for today, but I made a split second decision to change it up because these AVOCADO BROWNIES are too good to keep to myself!
I found this recipe over at FrugalMomeh.com and have been meaning to give it a try for a while now. I mean, I already love chocolate avocado cookies, and chocolate avocado pudding, so avocado brownies naturally seemed like the next dessert to make (btw, can you tell I LOVE chocolate?!).
My kids are always asking for a snack! As a result, I always have a snack. Snacking is okay but, are we making the healthier snack choice? And, how often are we snacking?
As a parent we walk around the house we pass the counter and if there is a dish of cookies or chips we would put our hand in grab one or two and keep moving, without even thinking about it. Then, that one cookie turns into two, three or even four cookies. Imagine how many calories we are eating and not realizing it.
