If you have not heard on the news or in any magazines this past week:
She has decided to go public with her decision to get a preventive double mastectomy and tells us about her procedure and how she came to that decision to do so.

How do you feel about her decision? Would you of made the same decision? How amazing is it that they are able to test us for the BRCA gene?
I think that it is wonderful that Angelina was so pro active and decided to go public with her decision to get a preventive double mastectomy. What I am not a fan of is the cost to get tested for this gene in the United States and as a woman living on Long Island where we have the highest count of women affected by breast cancer I think it is horrible that something that can save lives would cost so much. I am a mother just like Angelina and I would do anything to make sure I remain healthy for my child and see them grow up.
I think going public was amazing with this decision. Shows what a great mother would do. I am not a fan of the cost that the surgery is and that it is not available to every woman who has the gene. But hooray for modern medical science and discovering this
