My family and I have a new addiction to gourmet butters that are made by a local entrepreneur Laurel Bickford. Once you try these butters I am sure you will crave them too. With so many flavors to choose from it will be hard to pick just one!

Getting to know Laurel and her delicious and nutritious butters:
1. What made you start making your own butters?
Laurel– I was always a peanut butter feind with a cabinet full of tons of different butters. However, I always wanted to make my own. I started to make my own healthy butter and gave it to my clients that I personally trained and they loved it! From there on out I was hooked and got crazy with flavors! I think it is important to keep your foods simple, pure, and nutritious; hence the phrase that came about, “no crap, just nuts.”
2. What is your background?
Laurel– I have a degree in Kinesiology and Masters in Physical Education. I teach part-time at Dowling College and I am a Personal Trainer. On top of that, Laurel’s Butter is a full-time all the time business, and I love it! As a Division I track athlete and an IFBB professional figure bodybuilder, finding forms of protein that are healthy and pure to help fuel your body during brutal workouts is a must. That is why peanut butter is the perfect form of energy, and not to mention it’s delicious! All types of nut butters have the healthy fats and protein to keep you full and happy throughout the day. There is always something for everyone here at Laurel’s Butter!
3. Which is your favorite butter?
Laurel- I get this question all the time! But, in all honesty, each butter has their right time and place. A couple of my favorites are Oatmeal Cookie, Dark Chocolate, Coconut Cashew, and Selfie.
4. Which butters are the most sinful (calorie wise)?
Laurel- The dessert type butters: Dark Chocolate Almond Butter, White Chocolate Raspberry Pecan Butter
5. Which butters are the healthiest?
Laurel- The regular Peanut, and Almond butters along with the butters that have added protein: PB Vanilla Whey, The Selfie, Oatmeal Cookie, Vanilla Espresso
6. Your most popular butter?
Laurel– you can’t go wrong with any flavor! Some top flavors are Oatmeal Cookie, The Selfie, Banana Bread, Coconut Cashew, Dark Chocolate
Hi. I was just diagnosed with cancer. The Dr wants me to be on a high protein diet. I was so excited to see your nut butters. I’m very fussy and have a gastric bypass. I think these butters are going to help me out a lot. If you can send me ideas/recipes, I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much. Kim
