The Good Steer has food that is craveable and a comfortable atmosphere that all will enjoy and is located in Lake Grove, NY.

When you walk into the Good Steer you feel like you have walked into someone’s home with the smell of delicious food cooking and friendly faces greeting you at the host stand. The decor is definitely country inspired with a rustic charm. We sat in one of the cozy wooden booths and was given great service by our waitress on a busy Saturday night.  

If you want a family friendly restaurant then The Good Steer is one you should visit. We were surrounded by families and friendly patrons that did not mind the occasional “child outburst” of my 1-year-old and excitement of my four-year-old to be dining out. My four-year-old was given a cup of crayons and pages to color as she waited for her food.

Our drink order was taken right away and we did not have to wait long to be served them either. The girls loved their kiddie cup and the adorable Good Steer logo on the cup.

Our hungry bellies did not wait a long time for our food to come out and the timing of everything was perfect and we were super impressed that there was no delay even during a busy dining time. Friends of ours recommended we try the Classic Cheese Dream Burger. My husband and I love burgers so we each ordered one because if it was as good as everyone said we were not going to share.

The Burger was Ahhh-mazing and we were glad we each ordered our own. The creamy Dream sauce was so good and the “onion rings” were so good we ordered an extra side of them. The onion rings are crunchy and cooked to perfection.

You know that ughhh full feeling you sometimes get when you eat a big meal. My husband and I were definitely full but not like we don’t want to move after we just ate full. And that deserved some recognition. The burger is extremely craveable so much so that we can not wait to try more of their menu and we will be back very soon.

I loved how the girls food was served, it was super kid friendly and also yummy. My four-year-old loves her hot dogs so she had that and my one year old really enjoyed her grilled chicken and mommy and daddy enjoyed it too. All the food is fresh and delicious.

Oh and we did order dessert but it looked so yummy we dug in without taking a picture. Oops Sorry… you will have to go in and try the desserts yourselves. And wait till you see the choices. Any dessert lover will be happy with all different choices like warm apple pie, brownie sundae, rice pudding and so much more.

And did I happen to mention the Good Steer has been around for over 50 years and owned by the McCaroll family? Now, that is something wonderful to talk about. Quality food that keeps everyone coming back for more. You guys are awesome!
