We spent the weekend enjoying all that The Gateway is providing this Halloween season and we had the best time.
During the day we enjoyed the Not So Scary Kids Adventure with our girls and then my husband and I had a fun date night with friends for the Haunted Playhouse at night.
Gateway’s Not So Scary Kids Adventure
We love Halloween and enjoy getting in the Halloween spirit at the Gateway each year with a walk through of their Haunted Playhouse with the kids. I love that during the day on the weekends they change the Haunted walk through to more of a family friendly walk with fun and creepy (not scary) decorations to look at. They make it fun for the kids as the actors who scare at night are dressed as more friendly characters that you see throughout the walk. It is a self guided tour that you follow and as you walk through you stumble across actors dressed as a friendly Frankenstein, a Joke telling Mummy, Dancing Vampire and other characters who play with the kids along the trail. My girls were so excited to see who they would see next and I forgot to mention they collect colored tokens throughout the walk and at the end they get to deposit them in the treasure chest and receive a treat for completing the tour. So cute and fun!
Included in the admission is A Pumpkin Shaped Bounce House that the kids love jumping inside of,
Face Painting (My girls chose a painting on their hands instead),
Balloon Art
and some Halloween theme fun perfect for the little ones to enjoy.
There is a concession stand available during the day, as well.
Recommended for little ones and those children who may not quite be ready for the horrors of the nighttime Haunted Playhouse. “

Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse
We were so excited to have an adult night out that made us come out of our everyday routine and enjoy being scared with good friends . We didn’t know when a zombie would pop out unexpectedly behind us or in front of us as we walked the haunted trail inside and outside. Be aware that there are some strobe lights and moving lights that may effect those who are sensitive to that. Overall the Haunted Playhouse was a great 30 minute walk through that anyone looking for a Halloween fright will be more than happy that they attended. I would also like to recognize the hard work that The Gateway crew and actors do night after night to scare those who dare to enter.
As you wait for your ticket number to be called you can enjoy an adult beverage (21 and over) of either wine or beer or head to the concession stand for a snack or two. They also, had a food truck set up for you to get some delicious hot food and desserts.
And for those who may be a little more scared at night you can purchase a Monster Protection Amulet for $10.00. The amulet signals the monsters to go away and not to target that individual.
The transformation from day to night is so impressive you can tell how much hard work is put into the 180 degree turn from not so scary to completely creepy. Highly recommend heading to the Gateway this Halloween during the day or at night.
