IKEA LONG ISLAND SOFT TOY COMPETITION

Attention future artists and designers ages 12 and under!

IKEA U.S. is announcing the launch of its fifth annual Soft Toy Drawing Competition, inviting children ages 12 and under* to help create its next soft toy collection. From October 16 – November 8, 2018, children can share drawings of their very own imaginary creatures, with the chance of turning them into real soft toys sold in all IKEA stores globally.

The most unique creations will be entered into a global contest with a chance for your child’s design to be selected, created and sold at IKEA stores all across the world. The contest is open to IKEA FAMILY members. Not an IKEA FAMILY member? No problem – it’s free to sign up!

To enter, IKEA FAMILY members can visit info.ikea-usa.com/softtoy or join IKEA Long Island on Friday, October 26th from 6-7pm for a special activity for your child to dream up, draw and submit their very own soft toy! Submissions can be in one of three age groups: 4 years or younger, 5 to 8 years old, and 9 to 12 years old.

In early December, one semi-finalist from each local store will be selected through an online consumer vote, each receiving a $25 gift card. The 10 drawings with the most overall votes, along with five “IKEA Picks,” will move on to the global competition. The six winning drawings from the global competition will be made into real soft toys to make up the next limited-edition SAGOSKATT collection (available in 2019), which is part of the IKEA Let’s Play For Change campaign to help support children’s rights to play and develop.
