IKEA Summer Fun for the Kids

IKEA in Hicksville is celebrating Summer with some wonderful events for the kids.

Not only are they providing some FREE Family Fun for their IKEA FAMILY card members but, they are giving back to our community. Did you know that on any given night there are 2,000 children in homeless shelters in Nassau and Suffolk counties? “At IKEA, children are the most important people in the world, so IKEA looks to support programs that make a difference in the lives of the many children. For this reason, IKEA Long Island is partnering with Long Island Coalition for the Homeless to donate 500 backpacks to homeless children. We are also doing a school supply drive throughout the month of July to fill those backpacks.”

Fill up your Water Balloons with a Dollar Store Water Shooter

It is Summer and my family loves a good water balloon fight.

Happy Kids (and adults) in the summer = Water Balloons

It is such a fun way to stay cool and keeps everyone moving. We were having so much fun with our water balloons and we used up all of our Bunch O Balloons. (insert- Super Sad face here LOL)

I can not imagine filling water balloons the way we used to when we were kids. Standing in front of the kitchen sink and filling them one by one. It took so much time to fill them all up and I remember getting water EVERYWHERE as you pulled the end of the water balloon off the faucet. Bunch O Balloons is Absolutely Genius and saves so much time! As a parent I am so happy that this is the way we can fill water balloons for our kids in the summer time. Summer Parties have gotten so much easier because of this amazing toy/ product.

Budsies – Personalized Gifts

Budsies was able to transform one of our favorite drawings into a plush toy that we can love and cherish forever.

The peacock drawing has always made us smile and it is bringing even bigger smiles now.

I love how they transformed the details from my daughter’s drawing she drew her daddy 3 years ago into a sentimental gift we can all love. The large smile and bright colors were a perfect match. The plush is so soft and cozy you will love hugging your one-of-a-kind creation over and over, again.

The Lighthouses across Long Island are beautiful and all have a history that is important to Long Island.

Cookies For Dinner by Holly Zarcone

Meet local author and mom, Holly Zarcone! She has written an adorable children’s book called Cookies For Dinner and we are excited to tell you about it.

Cookies for Dinner is fun to read with a message that every parent can relate to. Our kids are only young once , let’s live in the moment and if cookies for dinner makes everyone smile than cookies it is! I highly recommend having some homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies on hand when reading this book with your family and maybe instead of a bedtime story red it together when the kids come home from school for an inspirational dinner idea.
