Egg Carton Lovebugs

Cute Little LoveBugs made by your little lovebugs for Valentine’s Day!

lovebug

Make these cute little lovebugs using:

an egg carton
red, pink, and purple acrylic paint
red, white and pink pipe cleaners
red, pink and white medium sized pom poms
red, pink and white stickers (found variety pack at dollar store)
wiggly eyes
black sharpie marker
scissors
glue stick and/ or scotch tape

Directions:

First, cut your egg cartons into groups of one , two and 3 shells together.
Then, using your acrylic paints have your child paint the egg cartons.

Once the egg cartons are dry add pipe cleaners, stickers, pom poms and wiggly eyes to make them look like little love bugs.
I made the three egg carton shell “bugs” to look like caterpillars. And these caterpillars don’t have to wait to turn into a butterfly in order to look pretty.
Using the heart shaped stickers I made feet for the caterpillars and then gave them antennae with the pipe cleaner and heart shaped stickers.

With the two egg shell “bugs” I made them look like beetles. Using the heart shaped stickers I made wings and then gave them antennae with the pipe cleaner and heart shaped stickers. I used pom poms for their feet.
Have fun with these and decorating them any way you want.

As for the one egg shell “bugs” I made them look like little bees or flies.
Again using the heart shaped stickers for the wings and then gave them antennae with the pipe cleaner and heart shaped stickers.

My three year old says, “I just love these little love bugs they aren’t yucky like real bugs.” She enjoys lining them up and playing with them. I really love how these came out they are adorable.

As with a lot of my crafts I love to reuse and recycle boxes, and containers to make crafts. This helps make crafts cost next to nothing to make which makes this Momees wallet feel good. : )

Happy Valentine’s Day Crafting from my Momee Craft Corner to yours…
