The views along the Peconic River are beautiful and it is such a calm and beautiful ride.
We highly recommend enjoying the ride inside the Atlantis Explorer Tour Boat with family and friends to see all the beauty along the Peconic River.
We had the best time during this interactive and educational sail. The weather was perfect and the staff aboard the boat were incredible. Captain Don sailed us up and down the river and it was a beautiful 90 minute ride.
My family and I learned so much aboard the ship from Joe and Jean. The Peconic River is an estuary filled with organisms that all play a role in our local ecosystem.
We learned the differences between a male and female spider crab after our guide, Joe pulled out the trap where a Male spider crab had been caught. They had a femal spider crab on board, as well for us to see.
We also learned about Whelks, Clams, Sea Stars and we even had the opportunity to see a Horseshoe crab. Jean was incredible with the kids answering all their questions and allowing them to touch everything she was walking around with for a wonderful hands-on experience. These living organisms were incredible to see first-hand.
It did not work out for us because of the tide on this sail but, you might even have the chance to get off the boat and explore a remote beach.

Some things to know:
*You are allowed to bring food and drinks aboard the boat but, you must throw away ALL garbage. No littering!
*There is a bathroom on the boat.
*Everyone needs to pay to board the boat.

You can also add the sail onto your aquarium admission for a beautiful day at our local aquarium here in Riverhead. We love the aquarium and while you are there you might as well enjoy all the aquarium has to offer.
