Long Island Haunted House Guide 2019

Here on Long Island we have a lot of places for teens and adults to go and enjoy a good scare during the Halloween season. There are great places to visit in Suffolk or Nassau County. Check out our list below.

The Haunted Houses and experiences below are not listed in any particular order, they are all great places to visit and all the locations have a great reputation for giving their guests a good scare.

1. The Gateway Haunted Playhouse

Recommended for ages 13 and older.

2. Chamber of Horrors NY

“Chamber of Horrors NY is one of New York’s top Haunted Events. 3. Bayville Scream Park

Long Island’s Halloween Theme Park- 6 featured attractions to choose from.

4. Yaphank Trail of Terror

5. Restless Souls Haunted House Complex

6. Horse Ability’s Haunted Hay Barn

“The HorseAbility Haunted Hay Barn features over a dozen themed rooms in our historic 1912 horse stables, from unnerving to the down right terrifying.”

7. Darkside Haunted House

“The Darkside Haunted House is Long Island’s most well known Haunted Attraction. We have been scaring and entertaining Long Island since 1998. The Darkside Haunted House is over 14,000 Scare ft and has over 30 of the most detailed scenes of Fright! The Darkside Haunted House is Two Attractions in one with an Outdoor Attraction “The Village” and an Indoor Attraction “The House”.”

8. Schmitts Farm Haunted House

9. Spooky Fest at Tanglewood

“The Center for Science Teaching and Learning (CSTL) celebrates Halloween with Spooky Fest. This family friendly event will take place 7 days in October and 1 day in November (see below for dates) from 6:30pm- 9:30pm at the Tanglewood Preserve in Rockville Centre, Long Island. Sixteen acres are transformed into a family friendly Halloween event.”

10. Hempstead House Haunt: Dreams & Nightmares

“This Halloween, the Sands Point Preserve Conservancy invites you to Hempstead House with a new immersive horror experience. Far beyond the typical haunted house attraction, a new kind of horror unfolds with you and your companions as a part of the story. Visitors to this primal world will delve into the madness which resides beyond the veil of sleep, as performers transport the audience – sometimes alone – into the bizarre, beautiful, and grotesque world of DREAMS and NIGHTMARES.

11.  Darkness Rising

12. Cemetery of Souls

The Cemetery of Lost Souls is a charity haunt built at a home in Massapequa Park.

13. Deepwells Farm Haunted House

“Deepwells Mansion – circa 1845 – Is known for an abundance of paranormal activity throughout the year. A favorite place for Mediums an Psychics to gather for ghost hunts and Seances.
In October we open our doors and welcome you in, to tour our screamingly horrific Deepwells Haunted Mansion. Enter the front door and explore room after room, floor after floor, of horrific scenes and creepy clowns, spiders galore and keep your eye out for the scientific experiments gone wrong!
Good luck finding your way through the dimly lit hallways. And just when you think you survived, think again!…….In order to Exit, you must also make your way through the “Terrifying Trail!”- through the woods on the haunted grounds of Deepwells Mansion.”
