Bring a local families Easter Tradition into your home with this adorable book set inspired by one little girls dream of a candy tree!
“Sugar And The Candy Tree” is a 32-page picture book that tells the tale of a little girl, named Sugar, who has a big imagination and loves dreaming of candy. One day she gets the most amazing, outstanding, scrumbly-yum-tious idea that any thinker has ever thought of. She is going to grow a candy tree! She tries to tell her friends and family about her amazing idea, but she soon realizes that everyone in the whole wide world is too busy for dreams and she is ready to give up. Just then, she thinks of the Easter Bunny! He’s a candy expert. Maybe he could help! Will the Easter Bunny be able to help Sugar make her dream come true?
Thanksgiving is a day to enjoy all the blessings in our lives! I have to say we are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends in our lives and we always look forward to reflecting back on the year and giving thanks!
Since I was a little girl one of my favorite family traditions is going to Hicks Nursery in Westbury during Christmas time. At Hick’s your family can pick out their perfect family Christmas tree, enjoy meeting Santa, see live Reindeer and walk through their animated Christmas story.
Hicks Nursery is a family owned Long Island business that has been around since 1853. The Hicks sixth generation is running the business these days and Hicks continues to shine in our community year after year. Throughout the store there is so much to look at with beautiful Christmas decorations everywhere. There is a reason Hick’s is known as Long Island’s Largest Christmas Store. A true Christmas destination for you and your family to go to each year.
Looking for a unique way to get your children or grandchildren ready for the holiday season? How about a visit from the Elf Express!
That’s right, a local Momee has thought of a great business that brings holiday cheer to local Long Island families doorstep and her name is Allison Lynch. She started her crafty business through Facebook and word of mouth last year to make some extra cash for the holiday season. Her inspiration was her daughter who celebrated her first Christmas last year.
If you are like me, I am always looking for ways to make Christmas even more special. I love Christmas time and the joy it brings my girls faces. Mia is three and is starting to understand Christmas and all the fun things that come along with celebrating. Olivia being 8 months old does not know what is going on but she is still smiling and gets excited when her sister does. I have seen some great ideas for Christmas Eve Fun and I know this year I will be doing a lot more than just leaving out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for his eight adorable reindeer.
