Inspired by a simple request for handmade items from Bob Policastro of Angela’s House, we would like to keep the spirit of giving alive year round by providing warmth to those in need.

Calling all sew-ers, knitters, and crocheters!

Momee Friends Square Cirlce

We will begin collecting 8” x 8” hand-knit or crocheted squares of any color and any stitch which will be joined together to make Afghans, scarves, and hats for patients receiving chemotherapy, children in emergency shelters or foster care, and medically frail patients receiving care at Angela’s House throughout the year.

Squares take little time and cost very little to make, but a little goes a long way!

We have  always been drawn to stories like Stone Soup, and ideas like “it takes a village”.  Momee Friends is about connecting families, bringing people together, and giving back to the community.  We were reminded by Bob that monetary donations, while they are definitely needed and always welcomed, personal gifts are just as valuable and so much more meaningful.  By collecting squares, we will be able to create beautiful gifts which will truly be made with so much care and love by a collective group  of people who care, and each gift will be so unique. XOXO

Make a difference in someone’s life by doing what you love to do! It will be so beautiful to see each person who receives a special hand crafted gift from their Square Circle of Friends.

Please mail squares to:

I’m Anne

I love to write about all things Long Island and family. I was born and raised here and as a local, I want to share all the great things I have loved about living here since I was a child. Our community is filled with great people, amazing local businesses, beautiful nature sites, scenic beaches, craveable restaurants and so much more. My husband and I knew when we had our first child that I would become a stay-at-home mom. Thanks to my love for sharing all the things I love about Long Island, my blog was created in 2013.

We are dedicated to linking families and businesses together for the benefit of all.
I hope you enjoy all that Momee Friends offers whether it is a smile, craft, recipe, friendly advice, or an event for your family to attend together in a safe and creative environment.

I hope you enjoy my blog and find it informative! Please feel free to comment and share your experiences with all your fellow Momee Friends! I want this blog to be for all of us and I want it to be an enjoyable site that you absolutely love to visit!
