We really enjoyed our Arabian afternoon at NYCB Theatre at Westbury with their children’s theatre feature of Aladdin!
The cast of Aladdin performed with delight and engaged with the audience throughout the show. I loved that there was no stage sets used. The scene was set through dialogue and minimal props. The personalities of all the characters shined throughout the story with lots of wit and humor. The kids in the audience seemed to really enjoy the show (I know my girls did) as I looked around and saw kids and adults smiling and laughing out loud throughout the theatre. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
NYCB Theatre Westbury is such a great venue. There are no bad seats in the theatre. There are great views all throughout. There are no booster seats for the kids but, the theatre has stadium seating. In stadium seating, most or all seats are placed higher than the seats immediately in front of them so that the occupants of further-back seats have less of their views blocked by those further forward. Which is super helpful especially with our little ones.
Some Momee Tips:
My youngest daughter has some sensory issues. She is extremely sensitive to loud noises. We always carry our earphones that make the experience more enjoyable. They can still hear but, it is not as loud as it would be without them.
We use : Snug Kids Earmuffs / Best Hearing Protectors – Adjustable Headband Ear Defenders For Children and Adults that I purchased from Amazon.
( I do not get any kick back from this endorsement, they have worked great for us and I recommend them for seeing shows and going to the movies)
NO outside food or drink is allowed inside the theatre. However, they have a great selection of snacks and beverages (for kids and adults) and they even offer kids meals.
There are two sets of restrooms available!
Parking is available on site and is included in the price of your ticket.
We highly recommend seeing Willy Wonka next week or Pinocchio the following. The NYCB Westbury Theatre puts on great shows. Highly recommended.
